Did you know that every state has a Protection and Advocacy Agency? This is a legally-based advocacy group that provides advocacy and legal services for people with disabilities. They also help investigate abuse and neglect amongst people with disabilities.
We’ve put together a list of every advocacy state agency and how to contact them. It is best to contact your own state agency first when dealing with most disability advocacy issues, as they will hopefully be able to help you more efficiently. However if the issue occurred in their state specifically, we recommend contacting them.
