It’s not too late to enjoy adaptive activities this summer into fall through awesome SCI organizations around the country. While the list below may be limited, these are opportunities that should not be missed. Many of them have deadlines that are coming up, so make sure to check them out before it is too late.
Camp with a Ramp (Sept., Arizona)
Located in Payson, Arizona, a small town south of Sedona, is Camp with a Ramp, an adaptive camping experience located at Whispering Hope Ranch that occurs every September. For 2025, Camp with a Ramp is September 11-14. Registration is now open and scholarship applications are being accepted until June 30th. Camper registration will be closed on August 18th.
This unique 3-day camping experience is exclusively for people with spinal cord injuries, as well as their caregivers and/or family members, and gives them an opportunity to try a variety of adaptive activities from horseback riding to kayaking. Educational discussion groups and tailored adventures are also on the docket for this yearly event.
Make sure to apply before August 18th and if you are in need of financial assistance, make sure to apply before June 30th for a scholarship. Out of pocket, the camp costs $400 per camper, with a caregiver/family member only paying $200 to attend.

Kelly Brush Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp (Sept-Oct., Vermont)
For those interested in learning more about adaptive mountain biking or just looking to hone their skills, the 5th Annual KBF Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp, hosted by the Kelly Brush Foundation, will be September 30 – October 3, 2025, which gives interested applicants time to apply. If you’re interested, you must apply by July 18, 2025, and applicants will be notified if they’ve been chosen by August 1.
Specifically for people with paralysis caused by an acquired spinal cord injury, this event offers adaptive mountain biking in two locations. The first location is Kingdom Trails, which will be available for 2-days to enjoy straightforward trail riding, and the next location will be downhill riding at Burke Mountain Bike Park for 1-day. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and to enjoy the fall weather. Discounts are available, and make sure to apply by July 18th.

Tourism for All (Portugal)
If you’ve ever wanted to explore an European country, Portugal is surprisingly accessible. There’s also an accessible tourism company that curates accessible trips to various locations around the country of Portugal called Tourism for All. They can help organize your entire trip to make sure it is accessible from accommodations to experiences. Their guided accessible trips are also awesome, offering tours of Lisbon, the UNESCO route and Sintra and Cascais.
They can also help you find caregivers while in Portugal, and can help connect you with any medical equipment you may need. Simply reach out to them to inquire about planning a trip this year.

Craig Adventure Trips (CO, OR, San Diego & Hawaii)
All summer long and into the fall, Craig Hospital offers a variety of adventure trips that take people all around the country trying different activities and sports. While all of their adventure trips are for alumni of their rehabilitation program, or current patients, they are still worth noting as they offer these individuals an opportunity like none other to explore the country and get out of their comfort zone.
Offering multi-day adventures as well as single-day adventures, these adventure trips include activities such as adaptive scuba diving, adaptive horseback riding and accessible cruises in both the Caribbean and Alaska. Interested? An accessible park & plant experience in San Diego is still available (happening August 30 -September 7), as well as opportunities such as adaptive surfing in Hawaii, and mountain biking in Oregon.
