We are on a mission this summer, along with our sister-organization AdapTee Golf, to teach as many people as possible with spinal cord injuries/disabilities about this exciting new way to play adaptive golf. We held our third AdapTee golf clinic in Edina, Minnesota, a suburb outside of Minneapolis, at Braemar Golf Course in June.
On June 19th, 12 individuals with their caddies (family members and or friends) attended the clinic despite a deluge of rain the day before. Cole and Charisma (social media stars/interabled SCI couple) also attended a tee time; one of the many tee times that were offered throughout the following week.
By attending the clinic to first learn the game, and then play 9 holes, provided golfers an opportunity to truly understand the sport. And they were joined by our AdapTee golf director, Andrew Mitchell, who gave pointers while they golfed. It was a week of several memorable moments and the beginning of a new hobby for many.
And we look forward to offering AdapTee Golf to golfers in Minnesota on a regular basis through a new partnership with Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Center (located in Minnesota) where the golfing equipment will be available to rent for free.
Are you interested in learning how to play? We hope to offer several more clinics throughout the country. Stay tuned for locations. And if you know of a golf course in your area that would be open to hosting one of our clinics, please reach out to Andrew Mitchell at andrew@adapteegolf.com.
