There are wheelchair tricks, and then there are the wheelchair tricks we dig up at SPINALpedia. We’ve profiled some impressive wheelchair tricks before, big tricks like like Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham’s 50ft wheelchair jump or quirky tricks like Johnny Hollenstein’s huge portraits he paints with his wheels.

And there are always new videos popping up online. We’ve chosen three of our favorite s that either completely blew us away or tickled us pink. Get ready for three big OMG wheelchair-trick moments.

Our first video literally will make you gasp. It shows the only wheelchair-user stunt cheerleader on the planet doing a routine with his team – WheelchairPS (Partner Stunt) – at the USASF Worlds 2012 . As they perform, you’ll see Rick, the team member in the wheelchair (he has full upper-body movement) do a majority of the lifts. And needless to say, yeah his upper body is HUGE.

It’s only a 2:28 minute long routine, but it’s so cool to see a wheelchair user lifting a cheerleader above his head (with her doing her twists and tricks in the air). Rick also has a website where you can learn more about him – Uplifting StuntsWatch WheelchairPS perform at a cheering championship

Our second video shows one of the best wheelchair basketball players in the world doing an insane trick while teaching kids about life in a wheelchair at an elementary school. The man wowing the kids is Patrick Anderson, a Paralympian gold medalist from Canada (Ontario to be exact), who’s been paralyzed from the knees down since he was hit by a car at age 9.

And boy has he honed in on his abilities. In the video, he pops off one of his wheels and balances on just one wheel, spinning and turning then putting his wheel back on himself, all without grabbing anything for his balance. He definitely wows the watching-on kids, and us. Check it out

And our last video shows how the wheelchair can be way more multi-purpose than you think. Jerry Diaz, a 26 year old T10-11 paraplegic, has figured out how to open (in a moment of necessity as you’ll see, disrobed and in bed) a bottle of Coke, and dang is it a slick move. All he does is prop the bottle just so on his brake, hits the top of the bottle and then bam – a bubbly Coke is readied. Watch him do bust out his bottle-opening mojo

Tricks, stunts and workarounds. Wheelchair-users are the kings and queens of this type of thing. The videos just keep on coming, and you can be sure to find the best of them here.
