Join me, Torsten Gross, as I take you inside my Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport MR—my race car modified for me, a C6 quadriplegic, to compete at high speeds with Just Hands Motorsports. In this video, I walk you through the custom modifications that make it possible:
Brake and Throttle: A custom Veigel hand control system that lets me turn for gas and push forward for brake while using red and green buttons for seamless upshifts and downshifts.
Veigel Commander: A fully manual setup for pit limiter, drink, comms, and more.
Adaptable Steering Wheel: Swapped out for a bigger wheel that fits my tri-grip, allowing full rotation and slide control.
Leg Management: Velcro straps keep my legs secure, designed for easy release in case of emergency.
These modifications not only keep me competitive but also make the car accessible for able-bodied drivers with quick removal—proof that true adaptability doesn’t compromise performance.
