This is my first time taking my Boston Terrier for a walk with a pronged collar. I am a T10 Complete Para in a manual chair, at first I thought I’d never be able to walk my dog until I found a runners waist leash. Have been using that for about 2-3 months with a harness as his collar. We would be wheeling then all of a sudden he’d see a bird and like chat to the right extremely fast or see somebody and run the opposite way I fell out of my chair like three times. No lie.!
Was talking to a professional Dog Walker in my neighborhood and he had suggested a prong collar, I thought they were inhumane, but it’s actually excellent for training and doesn’t even hurt him. The prongs are covered with plastic just so it gives pressure when he pulls so that way, he won’t yank me out of the chair again .
I’ve been in my chair for almost 12 years, so you can say I’ve been around the block and I know a few things. But now I feel a lot more confident when taking him for a walk for sure. he’s so strong, he’s just about one years old and he’s an AKC purebred Boston terrier, with a blue brindle coat!
