‘Trick Your Ride’ Halloween Costume Contest!

Think your wheelchair, crutches or cane keep you from rocking a truly awesome Halloween costume? No way! All over the country, people living with disabilities that require assistive devices are tricking (and treating!) them out for October 31.

One of our favorite things about Halloween is costume contests. Scariest, prettiest, best couple, most unique… we love them all! So this year, together with our friends at Magee Rehab Hospital, we’re hosting an online costume contest just for people who use assistive devices. You don’t need to be connected to Magee, or a member of SPINALpedia. The only requirement is that you have included your assistive device in your costume in some way and that you’re willing to share your awesomeness with the world.

Here’s how it will work. You submit your photo via the online form on Magee’s blog (no files larger than 3MB, please!), and give us the skinny on your costume. On Monday, October 28, your photos will be posted in special albums on the SPINALpedia and Magee Facebook pages. Here’s the really cool part. We don’t pick the winners – you do. To vote for a photo, simply like it – and get your friends and family to do the same!  And we’ve got a trick to give you a treat – you can vote on both pages.
