Growing up, all Meag Gallagher – a voice-over actor, fashionista and comic – dreamt about was becoming an actress. She even made it as far as being called back by Juilliard’s drama division, making herself standout among 400 other hopefuls. But the usual path in hitting the big time was not meant for Meaghan. A spinal cord injury would soon have other plans in store.

After her injury however, she refused to let it take her out of the arena of performing. Restructuring her career, read on for the determined story of the flawless Meag Gallagher.

Why She’s Fearless

Growing up in Lake Worth, Florida, Meag was a born and bred beach girl. But when she was 21 and broke her neck in 2005 in a car accident at C6, she wasn’t sure if performing was still something she wanted to do.

After trying acting again, Meag says sadly, it just didn’t feel right and had a hard time enjoying it like before. Instead of wallowing in sadness about something she used to love, she tried directing.

Meag took on theater directing a year after her accident. From 2006 to 2009, she directed 12 different plays and even performed in one. After directing, she moved to Tallahassee, Florida to attend college, and enrolled in a forensics class. After including humor in one of her speeches and getting a response, Meag decided standup comedy would be something she wanted to try, and moved her entire life to Gainesville, FL for its active comedy scene.

Once arriving, Meag performed at as many clubs as she could. Watch her do a show at comedy club 1982. Also after arriving in Gainesville, the local PBS station did a photo spread of her life. The photos are a no-holds barred look into her life and show that life can move on after a permanent injury, but in just a different way. Check it out – Local Life: Meghan Gallagher

Why She’s Fearless

Wanting to grow her comedy career even more, Meag moved to Los Angeles. There she made videos on how to apply makeup, that got her a feature in Cosmopolitan magazine (see the feature) in 2016. After living in California for a handful of years, she returned to Florida. In 2020, Meag was Ms. Wheelchair Florida, and she now devotes her career to voice-over acting.
