The reason we (higher injuries) get warnings from our bodies is because we have injuries to nerves that innervate our autonomic nervous system. This is the system that controls our blood pressure, breathing, digestion and so much more. We don’t sweat to cool off, and we have neurogenic bladders, touchy little things!! So when we are in discomfort physically below where we can feel our body has to warn us somehow. Therefore, a series of chemical physiologies (probably termed incorrectly) happens to make us feel that pain ijn other ways. If you’re an injury above T6 and have had overwhelming sweats, flushed skin, goosies in your head, and pain in your neck all at the same time; THAT is Autonomic Dysreflexia. Listen to my video for tips on how to handle it.
